Rastar Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I am scaling planar (ie y=0) mesh patches for a simple terrain using heightmap displacement in the vertex shader. Is there a performance difference between uniform scaling mesh:SetScale(scale, scale, scale) and non-uniform one mesh:SetScale(scale, 1, scale) ? I remember reading somewhere (non Leadwerks- related) that uniform scaling would perform better, but can't actually see why. Quote
YouGroove Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Generally in 3D engines, no scaling at all even on models is the best way, the faster. Quote Stop toying and make games
