Master texture Folder

I would like to see a default texture directory, I have several model packs and the textures are scattered throughout directories. Being able to put all textures in a default folder ( unless other wise denoted ) would be such a life confront ) ..  I litterally have a model pack with over 4200 models and textures in it, I need to catagorize the pack but in doing so I have to create new materials for each and every model. If the engine would first look into a default folder it would be a God send,.
