MetalOS Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Hello, I have just installed UltraEngine on my laptop with the vulkan sdk and the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. When I launch UltraEngine I can create a new project but once I double-click on this new project to launch it in the editor the software completely cuts out and nothing happens. Quote
Josh Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 What GPU do you have? Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
MetalOS Posted December 22, 2023 Author Posted December 22, 2023 My laptop uses an Intel UHD. But I have a desktop PC where I use an Nvidia GTX 1660TI which I think will be more suitable for using UltraEngine. Quote
klepto2 Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 Integrated gfx cards like the Intel UHD are not supported. Those gfx cards have very limited vulkan support. Quote Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit-Version NVIDIA Geforce 1080 TI
MetalOS Posted December 22, 2023 Author Posted December 22, 2023 It's a shame for my laptop. In any case on my desktop PC it works really well and the rendering on my Quest2 is great. Here is a test video that I made. 1 Quote
MetalOS Posted December 27, 2023 Author Posted December 27, 2023 In the future, will UltraEngine work on laptops like Leadwerks? Quote
Josh Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Ultra will always have higher system requirements than Leadwerks, but most Intel graphics chips are likely to be supported in the future. I know what the issue is but I have to write some fallbacks to accommodate them. Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
MetalOS Posted December 27, 2023 Author Posted December 27, 2023 Great news, I could work on UltraEngine during my long nights at work. :-D 1 Quote
MetalOS Posted January 1, 2024 Author Posted January 1, 2024 There is starting to be improvement on my laptop with 0.9.2. Before the interface was not even displayed. It's taking the right path :-D Quote
MetalOS Posted January 2, 2024 Author Posted January 2, 2024 I have just tried the beta channel and therefore version 0.9.3 and I encountered this error on my laptop which seems to concern Vulkan. Is there a specific manipulation to be done or is it simply that this version of UltraEngine is not yet compatible with my GPU? Quote
Josh Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 This extension is required. Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
MetalOS Posted January 2, 2024 Author Posted January 2, 2024 I don't understand, although I installed the latest version of the Vulkan SDK 1.3.268.0. Quote
MetalOS Posted January 2, 2024 Author Posted January 2, 2024 False joy, after updating my graphics driver I come back to the first error as on version 0.9.2. We'll wait a little longer :-D Quote
MetalOS Posted March 10, 2024 Author Posted March 10, 2024 I just tried the latest version 0.9.5. I managed to open a project created with version 9.0.4 but with many faults. So I deleted this project to create one with version 0.9.5 but the editor crashes when loading this project and its process closes completely. Quote
Josh Posted March 10, 2024 Posted March 10, 2024 What GPU is this using? Is this on the integrated graphics? Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
MetalOS Posted March 10, 2024 Author Posted March 10, 2024 Yes, Intel UHD Graphique. is intégrated graphics. Quote
MetalOS Posted March 12, 2024 Author Posted March 12, 2024 I installed the latest version and when launching Preview.exe it quit directly. When I tried to run it alone it told me that Openvr_api.dll was missing. I installed the dll but it crashes directly when loading a project. Quote
Josh Posted March 12, 2024 Posted March 12, 2024 I think getting integrated graphics to work will take longer and it is not currently supported, although we are a lot closer now than we were before. MetalOS Posted March 12, 2024 Author Posted March 12, 2024 No worries Josh, I have a desktop PC that allows me to work on Ultra Engine. I hope one day it will be compatible. THANKS. 1 Quote
MetalOS Posted April 16, 2024 Author Posted April 16, 2024 Hi Josh, I replaced my laptop which ran on an integrated Intel UHD GPU with another model which runs with an i7 processor and a GTX960M. The Ultra Engine editor launches fine but when loading the project file, it crashes completely but without an error message. Is there any special handling to do? Quote
Josh Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 Please upload your project so that we can try it out. Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
MetalOS Posted April 16, 2024 Author Posted April 16, 2024 This is the blank project generated by Ultra Engine. The first 3D window remains black when the editor loads, maybe it's a rendering problem? Quote
Josh Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 What version of the editor are you using? The version number appears in the title bar. Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
MetalOS Posted April 16, 2024 Author Posted April 16, 2024 I'm not with my computer, but I activated the beta versions on Steam and I downloaded the latest version offered. Quote
