Once LE3 is released for sale on the 28th, will people still be able to purchase LE2.5?

I have a friend without a license who I wish to work with on a project soon, but LE3 is far too expesive right now.

Why not sell a indie version of LE3: the engine only, no editor? What do you have to loose? It's only more customers, more profit. And without indies game development is not fun, it's just boring business.

Josh has said he will still fix bugs in le2 so it follows that the updater should still work.

So, LE2 has surely just gone up in value? I mean, LE2 is potentially of more value to someone than LE3 - depending on their needs and requirements.

I see something here.
