I'm looking into making an agricultural based simulation game, with the core element as crops. Many features of the Leakwerks Engine seem suitable but we're still trying to overcome the task of crops.

 

These would include different crops such as grass, wheat, maize, with different attributes such as height and being able to grow them over a period of time, and possibly being able to change the yield with different factors affecting it.

In this video you can see them actually harvesting crops. I'm not sure how they did it, because it's not exposed in the official API:

I'm pretty sure it was part of Klepto2's custom engine DLL which exposed the paint vegetation to the API.

So to answer your question, it's possible, yes, but not supported out-of-the-box.
