Been away for a while - where do I d/l the newest Leadwerks engine?

Hello everyone.

 

It's been a long time, but i'm still alive and kicking.

 

Kind of coming back around to Blitzmax programming and want to use Leadwerks with it - can I still do that?

 

Where can I download Leadwerks? It's been so long, I have forgetten or lost where to grab it. I may have my purchase info somewhere, but i'll have to find it.

Lots, including Leadwerks 3D to be released soon-ish, as well as a professional game released for sale recently (Hoodwink). Check out the Community and Asset Store sections to start.

I created a simple cube template using LE Builder for BlitzMax and received "Failed to create world" error:

 

world=CreateWorld()

If Not world RuntimeError "Failed to create world."

 

I did copy the latest MOD files to the MOD folder and anything else I could find to update BlitzMax. I also updated BlitzMax itself to the latest version.

 

What am I doing wrong?

That did it. It's now working. Unimpressive - but working

Any cool levels I can play with? Where is the sandbox editor I remember?

Sandbox editor is simply renamed: Editor.exe

 

If you can still download the 2.32r5 version then you get a version of 'The Zone' to play with ... really nice!

duh. OK. I ran the editor and there were three nice scenes to play with. Perfect. Now I need the familiarize myself with the API. I want to create something akin to Dear Esther and I think Leadwerks will be perfect.

 

What is the best tool to create levels in? I do own 3D World Studio (also leadwerks), along with several 3d modelling programs (Silo 2, Carrara, Hexagon and some others, but not 3D Studio, Maya or C4D). What has been proven to have the most successful pipeline (I do own UU3D and Milkshape)? I can only afford inexpensive tools right now, so no bank-busting suggestions please.

Looks like you are pretty well fixed already but why not get blender, its free and its good.

Of course I have Blender. I cannot make heads or tails of that program - and I bought TWO books to help me figure it out. I just don't think that way.

By far the easiest 3d app to use is ac3d.Its cheap too. I did more with that in one hour than I had previously done in weeks using other apps.

You already have the fastest surface/box modelling app -- Silo2 (even if it is abit buggy still)

Too bad they never got to animation. Hexagon 2.5 is free now, aswell as Bryce and Daz studio.

It was a patched version of 2.32. I have no idea if its still available for download but it was the only version that contained a copy of 'The Zone' ... as it was then. Very impressive!
