I am adding to this lesson. It's getting quite long, and talks about all aspects of the engine and Lua.

I updated the file. It's 21 pages now and growing. So far it covers all aspects of scripting, and next I will write about integrating Lua with other languages.

the lua script regarding the AddHook... does it require an updated lua version to work? I am not see a red rectangle when I run this nor any errors.

I do not appear to have the rock node which is mentioned in the tutorial I have a fresh SDK 2.3 install still no rock node Any Ideas

it was just being used as an example, but if you really want them, look in the old LE 2.22 SDK and you should find the rock and cliff files inside the meshes/rock folder.

If you do use models from previous versions (pre 2.28) make sure you delete the .phy files and regenerate new ones.

good point... just dont copy the PHY file over to the 2.3 SDK and when you load it into the editor it will 'automagically' create the phy file for you.
