Code errors in Visual C++ express

Hello, I hope this topic will be okay here. I've begun going through the tutorials, and managed to get through the first one just fine. However, using the PDF called Rendering Lights, I keep getting errors. I even tried copying the code and pasting it directly, as I used that method on the other tutorial to figure out what i was doing wrong. I have typed the code out by hand probably twenty times or so, and continue to get errors, and it won't build. Is there a way in the Visual C++ program to highlight what my errors are so I can try to fix them? any help would be most appreciated. Thanks!

 

PS. I even used the video of the same tutorial. I noticed that the code didn't match up in some ways to the PDF i.e. a space here, and parentheses there.
