Are the c++ is enough to write a game with Leadwerks Engine? I wrote a similar question already, but I find going on BlitzMax language (I do not know what BlitzMax), and still need to write a script in a language other than just c++ to run the game?

Is it possible to make 2D Indie games with Leadwerks Engine?

Yeah, like Little Big Planet would be perfect with LE2, since it uses AAA quality rendering.

But flatout 2D games make no sense with LE2, and nobody wants to play them anyway.

One more question: But Leadwerks Engine can make it (2D, like a retro games)?

Sorry for my bad english

Not really, it will be internally all 3D anyway. But like I said 2.5D is perfectly possible.

You just need to get over the past and understand that everything today is 3D, recently even 3.5D like with Samsung 3D TVs.

Yes but with caveats. Last I asked about this (last year) it was possible one of two ways:

1. You control your character, positioning it yourself and doing physics yourself.

2. You use Leadwerk's physics but put an invisible wall behind and in front of the character so it doesn't go toward or away from the screen (so it's locked into 2D).

This is because last I checked, the physics engine Leadwerks uses doesn't allow you to lock physics to 2D.

This all assumes that you want to use 3D characters/models in your 2D game, like Trine. If you want to use 2D animated graphics/sprites, I'm not sure how good Leadwerks is for that.

2.5D graphics like "Little Big Planet" and "Trine" ok for me.

You can do 2d games with blitzmax and also use it with le for 3d games.

amd quad core 4 ghz / geforce 660 ti 2gb / win 10

Blender,gimp,silo2,ac3d,,audacity,Hexagon / using c++

Then just go for Little Big Planet style AAA quality 2.5D games, it's awesome. I admire the realism of those sharp textures. Leadwerks is your best choice for productivity for that.

Leadwerks Engine 3 would be perfectly suitable for 2D games, since it includes an OpenGL 1 renderer with very low hardware requirements.

My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.

2D doesn't mean necessarily capability, but also gameplay. You can very well have a AAA 2D game.
