If you look in the VR.h header file you can see a member called "vrloadingmodel" where all the loaded models are stored.

My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.

You should be able to find it by name and then hide it once the model is loaded (check to make sure the model isn't NULL).
