mouse pointer visibility

I am learning lua script after failing to get my  last game to run in vs 2017.When I run the exe and click on esc I get the Quit menu, but the mouse pointer is not visible. Where can I correct this?

amd quad core 4 ghz / geforce 660 ti 2gb / win 10

Blender,gimp,silo2,ac3d,,audacity,Hexagon / using c++
