mspike Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Hello, just an idea, or feature request or more likely a question. Are you planning to add git / svn or other svm support into the system ? I think that would be super usefull. Br, Peter. Quote
Guppy Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Noting is stopping you from using a versioning system - I personally use Mercurial (hg) and that works just fine Quote System: Linux Mint 17 ( = Ubuntu 14.04 with cinnamon desktop ) Ubuntu 14.04, AMD HD 6850, i5 2500k
mspike Posted November 3, 2014 Author Posted November 3, 2014 So you just use it on your project files directly ? That means for me that you have to stop the editor before you switch branch for example, or am I wrong ? Will the framework sense and reload files if they change outside of the tool ? Quote
Guppy Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 you may have to reload the map, but changes to models/textures/scripts/etc are automatically picked up by the editor 1 Quote System: Linux Mint 17 ( = Ubuntu 14.04 with cinnamon desktop ) Ubuntu 14.04, AMD HD 6850, i5 2500k
Josh Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 You don't actually have to restart the editor if files change, except the map you are working on, of course. Models and textures will automatically reload if anything changes. But yeah, since we don't use any funny packaging systems you can use any of those. I use SVN and I recommend DropBox for beginners. mspike Posted November 4, 2014 Author Posted November 4, 2014 wow, supper cool support you have here guys. Thanks for the info ! Quote
Rick Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 We're using GoogleDrive and it totally screws the maps up. It constantly copies maps with (1) or [conflict] in the name. It's a pain. Quote

Try https://bitbucket.org/ instead you can use either git or mercurial - while I prefer that latter the truth is that unless you plan on using the comand line client the there isn't any difference ( hell you can even convert your repository from one to the other while preserving history ) Quote System: Linux Mint 17 ( = Ubuntu 14.04 with cinnamon desktop ) Ubuntu 14.04, AMD HD 6850, i5 2500k
Rick Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Yeah, I've used that before. Was trying google drive to get a more real time feel and less steps (as in none), but we'll probably have to switch over since LE does some funky things even though we aren't colliding in the maps. Quote
AggrorJorn Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Personally I find the combination of bitbucket, tortoiseHG workbench and mercurcial a good solution. Quote
