Schoppy0384 Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Hi, does anyone have an idea how to implement an Planet Glow Effect like this picture? Quote
DudeAwesome Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 if you need it just as a 2D texture use Adobe Photoshop (e.g. for a skybox). If you have a 3D sphere you have to write a shader to render this + the textures. Quote It doesn´t work... why? mhmmm It works... why?
Guppy Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 http://http.developer.nvidia.com/GPUGems2/gpugems2_chapter16.html also about 400.000 hits on google for "Planet Atmosphere Shader" 1 Quote System: Linux Mint 17 ( = Ubuntu 14.04 with cinnamon desktop ) Ubuntu 14.04, AMD HD 6850, i5 2500k
wburton72 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I believe the term for that effect is specular bloom or atmospheric scattering. You would have to write a custom shader for it. Quote
shadmar Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 There are different methods depending on how close you are getting to the planet. Quote HP Omen - 16GB - i7 - Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB
