Steam Client Bootstrapper Crash

I don't have the issue with l4d2. It might happen with another game that i own. Is this happening to everyone that uses Lw?

I only started to notice it after purchasing LW3 however, LW3 may have nothing to do with the halt/crash, and it could just be the latest steam beta client issue.

for me it Happens every time i try to right click on LW3 on my game list.whether it's installed or not, it also happened on my linux machine where LW3 is currently not installed.

It happens to me when I click on Library, software or installed, if I just click games all is fine.

 

It looks like it's trying to start a program up which then causes the problem.

It only bugs/freezes in list view, using grid view works ok. (you can choose next to "BIG PICTURE")

Now I can start it within steam again.

Oddly only detail view freezes for me (as on the screenshot on the first page). Thanks for the suggestion of switching modes. I can finally right-click on Leadwerks and go to Properties!

I got it working by refreshing my steam files and restarting my pc, No more crashes since and I can freely do what I want on steam now. I also only open leadwerks via shortcut and no problems as of yet.

I tried that as i uninstalled LE3 a week ago, but this don't change anything, always the crash, impossible install LE3 in Steam, only LE3 have that problem, as i could re install other games. I hope new customers to not have same problem.

Yeah for me, its leadwerks only. Any other game e.g left for dead 2 ect works for me but not leadwerks.

it also does not happen for other applications on steam. So i would say it must be something leadwerks specific.

It's been 10 days since Josh posted a report to Valve. Hopefully he'll have an update for us shortly but the workarounds above seem to be working for most people.

Managed to open Leadwerks normally today. Looks like Steam has solved the issue. Yeah.
