Hotspot Your Heart Out

This shows an effect like "hotspot" texturing, but instead uses the vertex material weights to apply a material to edges of each face. Unlike hotspot texturing, this will work with repeating textures and provides an exact fit for the face size.

oh yeah, this approach also supports shapes other than rectangles :)
